It was June off 2019 and I took an impromptu trip to Paris to meet up with a dear friend or mine. I was a flight attendant at the time but I was getting laid off when I got back, so this was my last time in Paris for the foreseeable future. I watched the sunrise from Sacre Coeur and was the first patron of the day at my favorite cafe in Montmartre and had a perfect fresh croissant and espresso. The city smelled like pastries and honey as the morning twilight turned to just morning and the city of Paris woke to meet another day. But for about 5 hours it was just the two of us, Paris and me.
